Description
We've had tons of L-50s over the years, but just about all of them dated from the '40s & '50s. Here's a super cool & very clean model from 1969 - how cool is that! The top is finished in a gorgeous & very vibrant Cherry Sunburst & the neck profile mimics other Gibson necks from the same era - skinny with a narrow nut width of 1 9/16", making this one super comfy. The tone is bright & punchy, and overall the guitar is a lot of fun to play. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Practically a time capsule piece & amazing condition for being 50 years old! Very clean with only mild play wear - various minor nicks & dings; light surface scratches. There is one very small finish crack in the top, right where the fingerboard joins the body. However, it's purely superficial & barely noticeable. Overall the guitar really looks fabulous & even better in person!
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double bound, hollow body arch top with dual F-holes. Spruce top with chrome trapeze tailpiece & compensated rosewood bridge. 5-ply large black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Maple back & sides with some light flame figuring in the rims. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 13.2 oz.
Case: Vintage Gibson hardshell case included.
