The Seymour Duncan SSL-2 RWRP is a great choice if you're after that classic Strat sparkle but need a smoother, more balanced response for modern playing setups. This version features flat Alnico 5 rod magnets, which help even out string response, perfect for guitars with flatter fingerboards or players using lighter gauge strings. Tonally, it still delivers the signature chime and clarity, just with a slightly rounder edge than the vintage staggered style.
As a reverse wound, reverse polarity (RWRP) middle pickup, it's made to pair with standard-wound neck or bridge pickups for hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4 on a 5-way switch. That means you'll get those iconic "quack" tones without the usual 60-cycle hum. Whether you're installing it as part of a full vintage-style set or using it alongside a hotter bridge pickup, it's a flexible option with vintage bones.
This pickup is hand-built with period-correct materials-lacquered Forbon flatwork, cloth push-back wire, and traditional construction throughout. We've used these in countless vintage-style builds, and they always bring that classic feel while staying practical for modern players.
