The Deering Sierra banjo is truly the flagship of the entire line. Top of the line features include the pot assembly, the violin grade maple 3-ply rim, the -06- tone ring, the one-piece zinc flange, the notched tension hoop, the Deering tailpiece & armrest (both wood & nickel included). This gorgeous 5-string is a real joy to play & super loud!
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition - exceptionally clean & still like new with only some very mild surface scratches.
Neck: Slender D-shape maple neck with some pretty flame figuring. A-Grade ebony fingerboard with original Deering designed engraved inlays. 22 nickel silver frets are clean with no wear. Deering Planetary tuners with Deering Gotoh geared 5th string tuner. 1 1/4" nut width with ebony nut; 26 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: 3-ply violin grade maple rim with 11" diameter. Deering -06- 20 Hole Bell bronze tone ring. 11" top frosted medium crown head. Notched brass tension hoop. 24 round J-Hooks & 1/4″ hex nuts. Deering one piece cast zinc flange. One nickel & one wood armrest. 5/8" Deering Smile bridge & True Tone tailpiece with nickel hardware. Double-bound 3-ply Poplar/Poplar/Maple resonator with straight sidewalls & 13 7/8" diameter. There are no electronics & the banjo weighs 11 lbs 9.4 oz.
