The Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Boy is a fully analog bucket brigade delay that gives you warm, lush repeats and the flexibility of modern control features like tap tempo and expression input. If you want the character of classic analog delay(darkening repeats, subtle grit, and modulation with the ability to sync to a tempo or build a dynamic soundscape), this is a great fit. It's ideal for players who want analog warmth but don't want to give up timing accuracy or control.
You get up to 700ms of delay time, with triangle and square wave modulation options that can add rich chorus-like movement or more dramatic pitch sweeps. The tap tempo function keeps your delay locked in with the band, and a Tap Divide feature lets you select rhythmic subdivisions for even more creative flexibility. An expression input gives you real-time control over Delay Time, Feedback, or Mod Depth, depending on how you set it. There's also a built-in effects loop, allowing you to insert other pedals just into the delayed signal path, a rare and powerful feature for sound design.
This pedal is 100% analog where it matters, with a true bypass design and a tone that naturally sits well in the mix. Whether you're chasing ambient textures, rhythmic delays, or just want a great analog echo with more tools onboard, this one's hard to beat for the price. We've had it in front of amps, reverbs, and fuzzes and it sounds so cool with all of them.
