The guitar will ship with all original factory documentation and packaging. In 1966, Fender redesigned the Stratocaster, giving it an oversized headstock which many believed enhanced its resonance. This Custom Shop 1966 Stratocaster pays tribute to that iconic instrument, and it's a fantastic vintage-inspired guitar.
This Fender features a two-piece select alder body that delivers a spankin' tone with excellent sustain, a punchy attack, and pronounced upper mids. Its quartersawn maple neck has a '66 "oval C" profile, a 9.5"-radius round-lam rosewood fingerboard, and 21 medium jumbo frets for comfortable play in all registers. Not only does it play great, but its Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer finish gives it the look and feel of a guitar that's been kept in excellent condition over the years, aging like fine wine.
A trio of Custom Shop hand-wound '65 Strat gray-bottom pickups churn out a thick, vintage tone with deep lows and brilliant highs, making this guitar excellent for a wide array of sounds and styles. Its Vintage Modified #2 wiring and Tone-Saver bleed circuit enhance its sound, allowing it to stay warm and bright at any volume.
Complete with a Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, and a genuine bone nut, this Custom Shop 1966 Stratocaster is perfect for old-school Strat lovers and professional players alike.
