Description
An absolutely wonderful P-Bass with a smooth, comfortable feel & rich, robust tone. However, the most interesting thing about it is when the Custom Shop was spec'ing out Hurley's original bass they noticed a piece of foam he'd stuffed under the strings in front of the bridge in order to deaden them, so they designed a special string mute that can easily be engaged at any time - a feature never before offered on a Fender bass. Now how cool is that! This one has been professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: This is a Closet Classic example that was gently "aged" at the factory to give it that ever-so-slightly mellowed "vintage" look - weather checking, mild surface scratches & some finish wear on the back of the neck.
Neck: 60 P-Bass Oval "C" shape maple neck with 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard & cream dot inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Fender open-gear "clover" tuners & round string tree. 1.750" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-tone sunburst. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable threaded saddles & string mute. 4-ply tortoise pickguard with black tugbar & nickel/chrome hardware. Bass weighs 8 lbs 11.3 oz.
Electronics: Hand-wound Sean Hurley P-Bass split single coil with black covers. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with COA & Shop Floor Traveler.
