The final entry in Fender’s “10 for ’15” run of Limited Edition instruments is the American Shortboard Mustang. A celebration of the instrument’s 50th Anniversary, this short 24” scale electric utilizes both ash and walnut in the body to create a unique, resonant sound previously unheard of in the realm of Mustangs. The combination of these woods with a hand-rubbed oil finish makes for a striking overall aesthetic that you won’t find on any other Mustang. Thankfully, the American Shortboard Mustang is equally stunning in tone. A pair of Black Dove Single Coil pickups is equally great at delivering classic rock crunch and crystal clear cleans. With a “C” shaped neck 9.5” radius rosewood fingerboard, it will feel familiar to newcomers and Mustang purists, and the added versatility of a 24” scale length makes it lightweight and easy to handle. Thanks to its woody look, vibrant tone, and exceptional playability, the 10th instrument in the “10 for ’15” series is a sure winner.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - very clean with only some mild surface scratches.
Neck: Modern C-shape maple neck with 9.5" radius rosewood fingerboard & white dot inlays. 22 frets in great shape with no wear. Double string trees & Fender diecast tuners in perfect working condition. 1.685" nut width; 24" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid ash body with walnut stripes in natural finish. String-thru bridge with vintage-style adjustable saddles. Nickel & chrome hardware. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 9.4 oz.
Electronics: 2 Black Dove Single Coils with black "soap bar" covers. Bridge - 7.70K ohms; Neck - 7.28K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original tweed hardshell case included along with accessories.
