Description
It doesn't get much more special than an early 2000's "Crafted in Japan", Fender, factory special run, stratocaster. You get a pearlescent finish(described in the original catalog as "White Purple Passion"), gold hardware, and an upgraded gold anodized pickguard(non-original) to give you something truly unique. You can always recognize a Japanese-made Fender by the feel of the neck, and to us, it feels like home. Which is exactly where this thing of beauty belongs.
Cosmetic Condition:
Good overall with some wear consistent with age. The neck pocket area was damaged from removing the neck- the finish on the neck had not yet set when they originally put the neck on this guitar during construction, causing damage when removing the neck to adjust the truss rod(see photos). This has been repaired by our in-house techs, and the guitar is priced to reflect it's current condition. Non-original anodized gold pickguard. Otherwise, good condition.
Neck:
Oval-profile maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 21 vintage-style frets, dot inlays, and gold vintage-style tuners. Approximate nut width is 42mm with a vintage 7.25" radius. Smooth feel and responsive fretwork. Neck is straight, truss rod functions properly.
Body:
Solid ash body with a rich, resonant tone. Pearlescent "White Purple Passion" finish over a subtly figured grain. Upgraded anodized gold pickguard. Gold vintage-style 6-screw tremolo bridge and matching hardware.
Electronics:
Three Fender Texas Special single-coils measuring approximately 6k each. Standard Strat layout with 5-way selector, master volume, and two tone controls. Electronics are all original and function perfectly.
Case:
Ships in a padded gig bag, matching whammy bar in bag.
