Description
When it comes to famous bass players, Sting sits atop the rock 'n' roll throne. With his work as the bassist and frontman of English rock group The Police, Sting helped change the face of '70s and '80s rock as we know it. This Fender Sting Signature Precision Bass pays tribute to the bass icon, and its vintage single-coil pickup, contoured ash body, and signature block inlay make it the perfect axe for players and collectors alike.
Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in very good shape for its age. It has a few dings and scratches, most notably one by the control panel, but it's in otherwise great condition.
Neck: Maple with a 20 fret maple fingerboard and black dot inlays. It sports a Sting Signature block inlay at the 12th fret, giving it a stylish aesthetic. The neck measures a comfy 1.625" at the nut, 0.86" thick at the first fret, and 0.98" thick at the 12th fret. The truss rod works great, the vintage-style tuners are fully functional, and the frets have plenty of life left.
Body: A lightweight ash body gives this bass a resonant, sweet sound with deep lows and a well-defined midrange. We believe the 4-saddle grooved bridge to be non-original, as these most often came with vintage-style 2-saddle bridges - but this upgrade provides much better intonation. Weighs 8 lbs. 11.4 oz.
Electronics: This bass features a single-coil vintage-style precision bass pickup that churns out a clear and well-defined sound with deep, tight lows and balanced sounding mids. Roll off the tone a bit, and this beauty has a warm, thumpin' sound, perfect for classic rock, funk, soul, and anything in between. All electronics have been tested and are in working order.
Case: Ships with a tweed gig bag. It has some wear and tear, but it still works great!
