Description
The first thing you'll notice about this ASAT Z-3 is the distinctive shape of the Magnetic Field Design Z-Coil pickups, designed by Leo Fender himself. These pickups deliver a bright & sparkly top end while offering a robust bottom end, all without any 60-cycle hum. The Z-3 maximizes sustain with Leo's Saddle-Lock bridge, which transfers string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall with various mild surface scratches.
Neck: V-shaped hard rock maple neck with black side-dots. 10" radius maple fingerboard with black pearloid dot inlays. 22 medium jumbo frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Chrome locking tuners & single string tree. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid ash body in natural finish. Leo Fender-designed G&L Saddle-Lock bridge with chrome-plated brass saddles & 3-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 5.7 oz.
Electronics: Leo Fender designed G&L MFD Z-Coil hum-cancelling pickups with 5-way selector switch. You'll find plenty of power in the Z-coil pickups, but what's surprising is how glassy & detailed they become as you roll back the volume. What's more, the volume pot is push/pull to allow neck+bridge or all three pickups together. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
