From Freddie King to Jeff Beck, many great pickers have been attracted the unique character of the "wraparound" tailpiece of a 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. Some believe its direct link to the body stud screws maximizes sustain while others believe the wraparound bar creates a distinct tonality & vocal quality. Whatever the case, there is certainly something special about this early year in the Les Paul Model's history & Gibson Custom Shop created this '54 Reissue to perfectly recapture the look, feel & tone of the originals. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - various tiny nicks & dings; mild surface scratches & some light weather checking near the control knobs, but quite clean for the most part.
Neck: Solid mahogany neck with 50s Rounded Medium C profile. Cream binding with tortoise side-dots. However, the seventh fret side-dot is much darker than all the others & appears more black than tortoise - pretty unique actually! Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: One-piece, solid mahogany body with maple top in gold finish & cream binding. Wrap-around bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 11.4 oz.
Electronics: Gibson P-90 single coils with cream "soap bar" covers & 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with gold speed knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with COA & hang tags.
