Everyone wants the '59, but I'm telling you straight - this R8 is easily just as remarkable as any R9 we've had in the shop - from the look, the tone, the feel & the playability - an absolutely fabulous Burst & a truly superb example. At under 9 lbs (8 lbs 15.1 oz to be exact), the weight is perfect, and the pair of double humbuckers deliver rich, creamy, muscular, dynamic tones. Don't lose out on a great opportunity to own a really wonderful Custom Shop R8 at a really great price.
Cosmetic Condition: Splendid condition & very clean overall, however, there is some finish chipping near the top strap button. The screw hole for the strap button was just a little too large & needed to be filled in some. The guitar has the VOS treatment - gently aged look to it with some mild tarnish to the hardware for a truly authentic "vintage" vibe.
Neck: Beefy, one-piece mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: One-piece solid mahogany body with flame maple top in Lemon Burst finish with some gorgeous figuring & cream binding. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 15.1 oz.
Electronics: Gibson humbuckers with cream bezels & aged nickel covers. Bridge - 7.99K ohms; Neck - 7.96K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. 3-way toggle switch & "bumble bee" caps. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with COA & hang tags!
