Built in Gibson's main craftory in Nashville, Tennessee, this guitar features a mahogany body and neck, a AAA figured maple top, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Though it does not come with Murphy Lab aging, its Greenybucker neck pickup's reversed magnetic polarity bewitches this guitar with Greeny authenticity.
The story of "Greeny" is shrouded in mystery, but few guitars are as illustrious. Greeny is one of the most iconic original Les Paul™ Standards ever made, with a unique sound as recognizable as the guitar itself. Previously owned by Peter Green, it was used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac and later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists. Its distinctive sound is partly from the out-of-phase middle switch position due to the neck pickup's reversed magnetic polarity. The Kirk Hammett Signature Les Paul Standard "Greeny" was inspired by this legendary guitar and gives players around the world the opportunity to experience some of the magic of "Greeny" for themselves.
Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition - very clean & still like new with only some mild surface scratches.
Neck: 50's Vintage profile mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. 12" radius Indian rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays. 22 medium jumbo frets are clean with no wear. Grover Rotomatics tuners with contemporary buttons. 1.695" nut width; 24.75" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Solid mahogany body with AAA figure maple top finished in Greeny Burst. Cream top binding & metal jackplate. Aluminum Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with nickel hardware. There is no pickguard with the guitar nor has the guitar been drilled for one. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 0.5 oz.
Electronics: Greenybucker with Reversed Magnetic Polarity; Reverse Mounted (Neck) & Greenybucker (Bridge). Dual volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch. Amber Top Hats & Gold Top Hats with Silver Reflector & Pointers. Hand-wired with Orange Drop Capacitors. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
