Only 250 of these were made between '95 & '96, commemorating the brilliant writer, singer & guitar player, Buddy Holly. This particular model is number 201 of 250 & comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity signed by Buddy's widow, Maria Elena Holly. This is a truly amazing sounding J-45, with a big, powerful voice that can fill any room & stand up to any other dreadnought or jumbo out there. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to perform straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused with some mild play wear here & there - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & light weather checking. Overall the guitar is in really great shape with a gorgeous look to it & super cool vibe.
Neck: Semi-chunky V-shaped mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautifully figured rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Mother of pearl Banner headstock inlay & Buddy Holly signature truss rod cover. Nickel Butterbean tuners work perfectly. 1 11/16" width bone nut; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, round shoulder dreadnought. Solid spruce top in sunburst finish. Rosewood bridge with mother of pearl dot inlays. Bone saddle & cream end pins. Small tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides in natural finish. Guitar weighs a delightful 4 lbs 5.1 oz.
Electronics: After-market K&K Pure Mini passive under-saddle pickup added.
