Description
What makes this guitar special? This is one of the most underrated archtops on the market hands down. The natural acoustic resonance is phenomenal and boasts a very high volume ceiling that almost rivals some standard smaller body acoustics. The tonal character has a genuine woody sound which is derived from its construction and it is beautifully complemented by the single P-90 in the neck. When plugged in, it takes on much of its inherent acoustic properties but with a bit of rounded chime. The satin finish on the neck provides a very smooth surface for unhindered movement, giving the it excellent playability. All in all, for the money, there are few better archtops currently available.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does have various small dings, dents, nicks, scratches, and other forms of normal wear, but still looks great and plays the same. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions.
Body: Double-bound archtop hollow body with a Canadian wild cherry top, back and sides in Black finish. Adjustable Tusq bridge. Trapeze tailpiece. Top hat control knobs with silver inserts. Floating 2-ply black pickguard.
Neck: Medium to slim D shape silver leaf maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Vintage-style tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width.
Electronics: Single Godin P-90 pickup in the bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control.
Weight: 4 lbs 13.7 oz
Playability/Sound: The medium to slim D shape neck is an easy shape to work with and the satin finish makes movement almost effortless. The body’s natural resonance is almost unrivaled in volume and tone for the price and the P-90 complements it perfectly with a jazzy piano-like chime with a bit of woody thump from the body.
