The Gretsch G2655 Streamliner Center Block Jr. Double-Cut in Black is made for the gigging player or intermediate guitarist who wants a smaller-bodied semi-hollow that doesn't compromise on punch or clarity. This model keeps the classic Gretsch feel intact but updates the format with a more compact design that's easier to handle on stage or in the studio.
Loaded with a pair of Broad'Tron BT-3S humbuckers, this guitar delivers tight low-end, full mids, and clear highs, making it a solid choice for everything from blues and rock to modern indie or alt-pop. The chambered laminated maple body with a center block keeps feedback under control while still giving you the resonance you'd expect from a semi-hollow. You get a full suite of tone-shaping options, including coil-splitting via the push/pull master volume pot, individual volume controls for each pickup, and a master tone knob.
The soft "C" shaped neck and 12-inch radius laurel board offer a familiar feel that's easy to move around on, whether you're playing rhythm or lead. Medium jumbo frets and a real bone nut keep intonation solid and the playability smooth. With a dependable Adjusto-Matic bridge and V-Stoptail, tuning stability stays locked in. We like this one a lot-it covers a wide range of tones without making you fight the instrument.
