Description
What makes this guitar special: The pickup in this bass makes the whole thing worthwhile on its own. Between the overall construction and the pickup itself, it has a fantastic low end response and a ton of vintage vibe derived from its “woody”-sounding mild sustain and rounded upper mid-range. The build is incredibly unique with a deep chambered single cutaway body that is perfectly framed by its double binding. It boasts two parallel finger rests, making it widely accessible for a variety of playing styles. The bridge is similarly unique with its individual rosewood saddles that help provide some of its inherent tonal character. In addition, it is super clean for a used instrument and plays great thanks to the setup our techs have given it.
Condition: This bass is in excellent condition overall. It does possess various small dings, dents, nicks, and light scratches, but largely remains very clean for a used instrument. The frets show only light wear if any and still have an absolute ton of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Chambered laminate maple body with an arched laminated spruce top in Jet Black finish. Multi-ply top and back binding. Fixed Guild adjustable bass bridge with rosewood saddles. Black plastic control knobs with silver inserts. Upper and lower mount finger rests.
Neck: Vintage soft “U” shape 3-piece maple and mahogany neck and 12” radius rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Grover open-gear tuning machines with clover keys. 1 1/12” nut width.
Electronics: Guild BS-1 “BiSonic” bass pickup in the bridge. 1 x master volume, 1 x master tone.
Weight: 7 lbs 11.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this Guild plays very easily and will be a familiar shape to many J Bass players. The tonal character of this bass largely resides in the past, as its single humbucking pickup outputs loads of warm, round, and full sound with a low-end emphasis and rounded upper mid-range that gives it heaps of vintage vibe.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
