Description
What makes this guitar special? A faithful reissue of the original ‘60s Guild hollow body, this Starfire III, from the Westerly, Rhode Island facility, exudes classic rock and roll. In natural/blonde, it has a genuine character that is as honest in look as it is in sound. The Guild SD-1 Humbuckers have a unique sound to them, somewhere in between vintage vibe and modern charm and the 2x2 controls give you plenty of tone shaping control. In addition, this Starfire III is in great shape and our techs have set it up with action that gives it excellent playability. We suggest you pick this cult classic up before someone else realizes it’s here.
Condition: This Starfire III is in very good condition overall. It does have signs of light playwear like minor surface scratches and a few scuffs, but still constitutes a very clean figure and plays beautifully. The neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should. The frets do show light wear but still have a lot of life in them.
Body: Thinline hollow body in natural finish with single Florentine cutaway and white/cream double binding. Guild stamped Bigsby-style tailpiece with nickel/chrome bridge. Raised black pickguard and chrome hardware.
Neck: Mahogany neck w/ bound rosewood fingerboard. Grover tuning machines. 1-11/16” nut width.
Electronics: Guild SD-1 Humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 3-way selector switch, 2 x volume, 2 x tone knobs.
Weight: 7.20 lbs
Playability/Sound: The action our techs have set this up with allows for excellent playability and its rounded, but not too full profile makes it super comfortable up and down the neck for all playing styles. It resonates pretty well acoustically and the pickups meet somewhere between vintage and modern.
Case: Includes hardshell case.
