Description
This vintage 1970s Hagstrom Viking 1N in Cherry is a striking example of classic Swedish craftsmanship with a rock-ready edge. Built with a laminate birch body and maple neck. The dual humbuckers pair up nicely with the 3-way pickup selector and 3-way tone switch, offering a wide range of vintage-voiced tones. Add in separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, and this Viking can easily dial in nuanced tones.
The 24.75" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width provide a comfortable, familiar feel, with rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. The original Hagstrom trapeze tailpiece and duckfoot headstock complete the period-correct aesthetics, and the sealed tuners hold tune with ease. Professionally inspected and set up by our in-house techs, this Viking plays cleanly across the board and is ready for its next chapter.
Cosmetic Condition:
Good condition with expected wear for its age. Surface scuffs, small dings, and a noticeable chip on the back of the neck are present, but nothing that affects playability. The quilted figuring on the back adds a touch of visual flair.
Neck:
Slim maple neck with a comfortable C profile, rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays, and 22 frets. 1 11/16" nut width and 24.75" scale length. Some playwear on frets, but plenty of life still for a ~50 year old guitar. Neck is straight, truss rod functions properly.
Body:
Laminate birch construction with a cherry finish and semi-hollow build. Original Hagstrom trapeze tailpiece and tune-o-matic style bridge. Some quilted figuring on the back.
Electronics:
Dual humbuckers with fully functional 3-way pickup selector, 3-way tone control switch, individual volume and tone knobs for each pickup. All electronics tested and in solid working order.
Case:
Includes hardshell case.
