Description
What makes this guitar special? This is a solid Larivee dreadnought that was converted from a right-handed to a left-handed guitar. Everything has been compensated for, including filling the old saddle slot and reslotting it for a reverse/lefty saddle, hand-made side dots, a replaced nut, and a relocated strap button. The classic boxy dreadnought tone shines through beautifully and enhances the rich midrange that stems from the mahogany back and sides. The neck is easy to play and is worn in just enough to give it a tenured feel. The appointments are simple but the overall execution of the conversion came across marvelously well.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, and scratches but still looks great nonetheless. It does show signs of its previous identity as a right-handed guitar, including a filled and reslotted bridge, replaced nut, and holes from the original strap button location, as well as some uniquely done added side dots, but nothing that affects the structural integrity or playability of the instrument.
Body: Double bound in black dreadnought body with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Three-ring rosette with a white center ring. Black pickguard. Rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle and black bridge pins with gold dots.
Neck: Medium round C shape mahogany neck with gloss finish and ebony fingerboard with small white dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width. Chrome sealed tuning machines.
Weight: 4 lbs 4.5 oz
Playability/Sound: This is an easy-playing neck profile that has been worn in just enough. The overall sound features a rich midrange with the classic dreadnought boxy sound and a crisp high end.
Case: Includes hardshell case.
