Creating a poignant place in history, the Martin D-35 Johnny Cash was the first polished black guitar Martin ever rolled out. Often noted as one of Johnny's favorites, this gorgeous axe in black boasts a solid Engelmann spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back & sides. In tribute, it was built very close to the original specs and features grained ivoroid binding around the body & neck to contrast its dark appearance. Complete with a bone nut and saddle, this rich recreation is just waiting for you to give it all you've got, just like the man himself. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition - very clean & still like new with only some very mild surface scratches.
Neck: Mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone star inlays. Johnny Cash signature inlay in the 20th fret. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Bound headstock with Grover Rotomatic tuners. 1 11/16" width bone nut; 25.4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, dreadnought body finished in black. Solid Engelmann spruce top with black pickguard & abalone rosette. Ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle. Black bridge pins with abalone dot inlays. Solid East Indian back & sides with double zig zag back strips. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 11.9 oz.
