Produced for only a brief moment in 2005 & 2006, this fabulous 000-ECHF Eric Clapton / Hiroshi Fujiwara is number 168 of 410. A truly magnificent guitar that was just recently acquired from a private collection of nearly 40 rare & vintage Martin guitars, including tenors as well as mandolins, ukes & banjos. Cosmetic Condition: Excellent conditon overall. There are various surface scratches from play & a tiny bit of finish chattering along the bass side of the neck near the first fret. The white finish has aged a bit over the years & shows off some nice variegation in the back of the neck. Overall the is quite clean & has a great vibe to it.
Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone snowflake inlays. Bellezza Nera inlay in the 20th fret. Frets are clean with practically no wear. Bound headstock with abalone floral inlay. Martin diecast tuners & diamond volute. 1 3/4" nut width; 24.9" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-bound, OOO-size body. Solid Engleman spruce top with Herringbone purfling. Black pickguard & mother of pearl diamond rosette. Ebony bridge & end pins with abalone dot inlays. Solid Pacific Big Leaf flame maple back & sides with Herringbone center strip. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 5.6 oz.
