Description
Championed by bass legends like Tony Levin, Pino Palladino, and Queen's John Deacon, the StingRay bass is one of the most iconic models ever produced. With its bright, snarling tone, the StingRay has won over the hearts of funk, rock, and metal musicians alike. This Sterling by Music Man StingRay 5 HH serves up the same great tones that Music Man fans have come to know and love, but in a more affordable package. If you're looking to upgrade your arsenal with an excellent, reliable 5-string bass, this Ray35 HH is sure to impress.
Cosmetic Condition: This bass is in excellent condition and shows minimal signs of use. There are no noticeable dings, dents, scratches, or scuffs on the neck, body, or hardware. Its Daphne Blue finish looks terrific and gives it a classic, traditional vibe.
Neck: Roasted maple neck with 22 fret roasted maple fingerboard and black dot inlays. The frets are in great shape with no wear, the tuners turn smoothly without resistance, and the neck is straight with a fully functioning truss rod. Thanks to its 17.5mm string spacing at the bridge, this bass feels well suited for playing quicker, more technically demanding lines.
Body: This bass sports a mahogany body, giving it a rich, warm sound with plenty of midrange bite. It features a sturdy Music Man-style bridge that adds plenty of sustain to its voice and provides rock-solid intonation.
Complete with a 3-ply white/black/white pickguard, this bass looks and feels like a genuine StingRay. Weighs 10 lbs. 6.3 oz.
Electronics: The Sterling Ray35 HH has a pair of Alnico Humbuckers, a 5-way pickup selector, and a 3-band EQ, giving it an extensive amount of sonic versatility. With the neck pickup selected and the bass boosted, this axe sounds nice, warm, and thumpy, perfect for old-school soul and Motown tunes. With the bridge pickup engaged and the treble and mids bumped, it churns out a bright, clanky tone perfectly suited for hard rock and metal. All electronics are in good working condition.
