Description
Richard Cotten, the late owner of Cotten Music Center in Nashville, had Taylor make 62 of these "specials" in 1995. They were basically a standard 612c with an upgrade in the highly flamed maple back and sides, extra nice sitka top, Florentine cut away, and a custom cotton ball variation to the standard 600 inlay. A portion of their price was donated to the Leukemia Foundation, in Richard's honor - he later died from the disease.
Cosmetic Conditon: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & a small crack in the cutaway. Overall the guitar has a cool vibe & is a great player.
Neck: Mahogany neck with nicely aged white binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with special mother of pearl "cotton" inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Ebony headstock veneer & Grover Rotomatic tuners. 1 3/4" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Grand Concert size body with Florentine cutaway. Solid sitka spruce top with ebony bridge & compensated saddle. Tortoise pickguard & abalone rosette. Highly flamed maple back & sides. Multi-layer binding on the top & back. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 1.7 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case shows some wear & tear & the bottom clasp is missing.
