This Grand Auditorium features back & sides of solid Honduran rosewood, a dense, hard wood that yields stunning harmonic texture with warm lows, piano-like trebles & a smooth attack. The top is sinker redwood, sourced from old-growth logs submerged in Northern California riverbeds. Redwood's warmth & touch sensitivity are comparable to cedar, but with a higher volume ceiling & an enhanced dynamic range. With V-Class bracing inside, the result is a high-fidelity sound complemented by lush overtones & remarkable pitch precision. Comfort-enhancing features include a beveled armrest & cutaway, chamfered body edges & a smooth Curve Wing bridge, yielding a truly seamless feel. The Builder's Edition 914ce is artfully detailed with Hawaiian koa purfling, paua edge trim, an ebony backstrap, Gotoh 510 tuners in antique gold, Belle Fleur inlays in paua & mother-of-pearl & a gorgeous Kona edgeburst for the back & sides with a full-body gloss finish. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition - very clean & still like new with only some mild surface scratches.
Neck: Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck with West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard & Belle Fleur, Mother of Pearl inlays. Frets are clean with practically no wear. Bound headstock with ebony veneer & Belle Fleur, Mother of Pearl inlay. Gotoh tuners with 1:21 gear ratio. 1 3/4" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Grand Auditorium size body with cutaway. Solid Sinker Redwood top with abalone purfling & rosette. Ebony bridge & end pins with compensated saddle. There is no pickguard. Solid Honduran Rosewood back & sides finished in Kona Edgeburst. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 1.4 oz.
