Description
A used clone of the classic 5F1 Tweed Champ combo amp. Assembled from a selection of high-quality parts, this amp features USA-made ClassicTone transformers and an upsized Weber 10A25 10" speaker. Given that this was a kit amp, our tech has gone over the whole circuit--checking for any circuit errors while cleaning up soldering, lead dress and grounding. This amp is good to go inside and out.
Sound-wise, the amp is everthing you would expect from a 5F1-style amp. The fat clean tone quickly turns into a midrange-focused crunch tone as you turn up the volume. There are a few diversions from the original 5F1 champ. When engaged, the negative feedback defeat switch adds a little more grit and top end chime. Additionally, the 10" speaker offers more low-end extension compared to the 8" of the original 50s model. This is a fantastic Tweed Champ clone that rivals any boutique reproduction. It has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds great.
