Description
Here's a clean, vintage-phase specimen with plenty of vibe and character. The body is solid poplar. with a gloss black finish that shows surface scratches but no substantial dings or cracks-just honest wear from years of loving use. A previous owner had swapped out the original neck humbucker(included in the case), whose slug coil had gone bad, for a Seymour Duncan '59, giving it a warm, expressive tone while keeping the iconic high-output humbucker feel that defines a Phase III Univox. The bridge pickup remains original, and all electronics function smoothly.
Playability is great: the bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard is straight and has some very interestingly tiny frets. It has that classic skinny, fast Phase III neck feel loved by players from Cobain to Sonic Youth. If you like a vintage feel, it's got it in spades. Truss rod works fine, and the guitar is professionally setup and inspected by our in-house techs.
