Description
What makes this banjo special: A lovely 5-string banjo with some gorgeous carvings in the neck & highly intricate mother of pearl inlay throughout the instrument. The banjo has a sharp, bright, punchy tone that projects rather nicely. It's been professionally set up by our own luthier & plays very well.
Cosmetic Condition: Rather good condition considering it's about 100 years old - various nicks, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear.
Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with some beautiful floral carvings in the base of the neck. Multiple binding along the neck with white side-dots. Stained maple fingerboard with small brass frets. Gorgeous abalone / mother of pearl fretboard & headstock inlay. Tuners are in good working condition. 1 3/16" nut width; 27" scale length.
Body: Open-back, mahogany body with multiple bindings. The bottom has a few cracks in it, but shows off a really nice checkerboard inlay. 11 1/2" diameter top with a more modern Remo head & an unoriginal tailpiece. Banjo weighs 6 lbs 10 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
