Description
What makes this lap steel special: A magnificent sounding lap steel with a broad, powerful voice & wonderful, vintage charm. These early-model, all metal bodies are really fun to play & make perfect additions to any lap steel collection.
Cosmetic Condition: You gotta admit, she's in pretty good shape for being eighty-something. Various small nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear in the fingerboard. The bridge has a minor crack & the volume knob has a small chip out of the skirt. Neither of these affect playability or sound quality. Overall the steel has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck/Body: Hollow neck & body in grey burst finish. The frets are actually part of the neck & are raised in the metal with white dot inlays. Rickenbacher Electro headstock decal is in great shape. 3-on-a-strip, open-back tuners in perfect working condition. There's a steel nut over the existing bone nut, which has a width of about 2". The lap steel weighs 6 lbs 5.9 oz.
Electronics: Single coil "horseshoe" pickup with master volume & tone controls. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: There is no case with the lap steel.
