What’s special about this guitar: This is a gorgeous sounding Epiphone made Sorrentino archtop guitar. This piece has excellent volume and sustain and a very rich sound. The top and back are both nicely arched giving the guitar a lot of the character in its sound. The neck plays great and has a super comfortable and versatile shape. There are a few repairs on the guitar but they were all done professionally and the guitar is in great playing shape!
Condition: Very good overall condition! There are plenty of scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the instrument and consistent weather checking. Most notable is a large repaired crack on the upper bas side bout. This repair was done professionally and with excellent results. The binding has shrunk and cracks in many areas but has been re-glued into place. There is some relief in the neck resulting in slightly higher action towards the higher frets but the playability is still comfortable! All parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound body with arched maple top and arched mahogany back and sides in sunburst finish. Trapeze tailpiece with a rosewood-based compensated rosewood bridge. Single-ply black pickguare and dual f-holes. 16 3/8” lower bout.
Neck: Very nicely rounded three-piece mahogany/maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid diamond inlays and a 1 ¾” nut. Open-gear nickel tuners and pearloid Sorrentino logo on the headstock. 25.4” scale length.
