Description
A super-rare vintage 1939 Gibson EH-185 1x12 tube combo amp in player-grade condition. This is one of the first 60 EH-185s produced that are mistakenly stamped with 'EH-150' on the front panel. The story goes that Gibson originally intended the 185 to be the newest version of the EH-150 but later decided to make it its own model. The 185 is quite similar to the 150, but it has the nice addition of independent bass and treble controls. It still has the warm clean tone and over-the-top overdrive (when plugged into the mic channel) that the EH-150 is famous for. The hinged, fliptop portion of the cabinet (which includes the handle) is missing on this example, but this does not affect the opteration of the amplifier. In addition the AC cord has been replaced with a grounded female AC plug for use with any standard IEC power cord. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
