Description
What makes this guitar special: Marvelous condition for its age with a bright natural acoustic tone. Plug it in & the guitar immediately jumps! The powerful P-90 sounds amazing with a strong output of 8.88K ohms. The original tuning buttons crumbled, but the original tuners are included with the guitar. So aside from the current repros, the guitar is all original & plays like a dream.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition for approaching 70! Gently used with typical light play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild weather checking. Overall the guitar has a great, well-cared for look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Chunky, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Newer Kluson Deluxe tuners replaced the originals when the buttons crumbled, however, the originals are included with the guitar & no extra holes were drilled. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound hollow maple body with dual F-holes. Trapeze tailpiece with compensated wooden bridge. Tortoise pickguard is in good condition with plenty of pick scratches, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 5.1 oz.
Pickup: "Dog ear" P-90 single coil neck pickup - 8.88K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with gold "barrel" knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original Gibson chipboard case included. A portion of the trim & latch are missing around the top of the case, but for the most part it's in good shape & serves its purpose well.
