Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful sounding vintage Gibson L-48 archtop in very good shape for its age! Features include a maple top and back and mahogany sides. The sunburst finish and binding have developed a beautiful patina over time giving the guitar a beautiful and authentic vintage look! The guitar has a great sound that is warm and “woody” and produces plenty of volume the harder it is played.
Condition: Very good shape for its age! There are various minor scratches, small nicks, dings dents and a few small chips throughout the guitar with some buckle rash on the back. There are a few spots with heavier play wear that have worn down to the bare wood on the sides (see photos). The fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is super comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. The tuners are unoriginal, otherwise all parts are original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound body with a mahogany top, sides and maple back in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece and a compensated rosewood bridge. Dual f-holes and a tortoise pickguard.
Neck: Super comfortable and very nicely rounded mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Newer model three-on-a-strip Kluson Deluxe tuners with ivoroid buttons, 25” scale length.
Weight: 4lbs, 9.3oz.
Case: Includes a vintage hardshell case.
