Description
Cosmetic Condition: A rare guitar that's a bit rough cosmetically, but still has a cool vintage vibe. There are several repaired cracks in the body, mostly in the top & a couple in the back. The top has also been over-sprayed. There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & finish checking throughout. The guitar plays well around the lower frets, but the string action is a bit high up near the 12th fret, about 3/16", and the saddle is as low as it's going to go. Overall the guitar has a great, well-played, look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss works fine, but it could benefit from a professional neck reset to get the action down lower.
Body: Single Florentine cutaway, small body acoustic in a beautiful sunburst finish. Solid spruce top with rosewood bridge & tortoise pickguard. Solid mahogany back & sides. 14 1/4" lower bout width; 4 1/2" depth.
Playability / Sound: As mentioned before, the action is not as low as most players prefer, but the guitar is still quite playable. The guitar offers a sweet, rich tone that is quite loud.
Case: Vintage faux alligator chipboard case.
