Description: Vintage 1960s German Made Hofner Verythin Hollow Body Archtop Electric Guitar
Condition: Very good overall! This guitar looks great for its age! Various surface scratches, a few small dings and some nice even weather checking throughout the finish. Much of the binding has acquired a beautiful patina adding to the guitar’s vintage vibe. There are some small cracks on the neck binding and the neck heel cap has some out-gassing effects and has partially crumbled (see photos). Fingerboard and frets have very light play wear and tons of life left in them! The truss rod functions properly and the neck is very straight. The neck pickup has been tested and is not functional. It would require a rewinding of the coil to work which could be a great opportunity for the buyer to customize the pickup to their liking. The bridge pickup has a good ohm reading and is in good working condition. Due to the neck pickup, the controls only function partially (see below for details).
Body: Double-bound hollow archtop body with pearloid binding, spruce top, maple sides and flame maple back in sunburst finish. Vibrato tailpiece, Ebony bridge with nickel saddles, dual bound “F” holes, celluloid control plate with vintage knobs and a 5-ply black pickguard.
Neck: Slim neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, striped pearloid inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. This model features a zero nut. Open-gear tuners with ivoroid buttons, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Vintage Hofner pickups in the neck and bridge with dual volume controls, On/Off switches for each pickup and a Rhythm/Solo boost switch. As stated above, only the bridge pickup is functioning. Both on/off switches are currently wired to the bridge pickup. The bridge volume control works, the neck does not. The rhythm/solo switch is functional.

Playability/Sound: This is a great all around vintage Hofner guitar! Cosmetically and structurally it is in very good shape and has tons of character. All that would be required to return the guitar to original working order would be a rewind of the neck pickup and rewiring of the controls.
