Description
Cosmetic Condition: This is a great "project" bass for someone looking to improve their luthier skills. It is only the shell of the bass - body & neck - with no electronics or hardware. There is no serial number, but based on the style of headstock logo it appears to be from the 60's. The bass has been refinished & the route for the control cavity has been enlarged a bit. There are two dowels in the neck heel from a previous repair. There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. Overall the bass has a cool look to it & should be a nice player once it's all put together.
Neck: Bound maple neck with rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in good condition & just need to be polished. Bound headstock with raised plastic Hofner logo.
Body: Hollow violin shaped body with 4-ply binding. Spruce top with maple back & sides. There's some nice flame figuring in the back.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough with some tears in the tolex & part of the handle is broken.
