Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a phenomenal sounding Kay Speed Demon in exceptional shape for its age! It features all three original single-coil pickups which deliver a fantastic vintage tone, an awesome sunburst finish with just the right amount if vintage aging and a super comfortable V shaped neck. Its rare to find these models in this good of condition and all original on top of that! The guitar sounds awesome in all pickups settings and can really stand out as a Jazz guitar thanks to the hollow body design.
Condition: Great shape overall, especially for the guitars age! There are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the guitar along with consistent weather checking and a few small areas of finish worn through to the bare wood. Overall this one is very clean with the perfect amount of play wear for an authentic vintage look! The fingerboard and frets are in fantastic shape with hardly any play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is super comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. The tone control for the bridge isn’t working, otherwise all other electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound hollow body with a Florentine cutaway and maple top, back and sides in sunburst finish. Trapeze tailpiece and a height-adjustable rosewood bridge. Plastic control knobs, a single f-hole, three-way rotary switch and a single-ply white pickguard with the Kay logo.
Neck: V shaped maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Three-on-a-strip Kluson Deluxe tuners with ivoroid buttons. 25.5” scale length.
