Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a phenomenal sounding, player’s grade vintage 1961 Gibson Melody Maker complete with two beautiful sounding P-90 pickups! The guitar has been modded with many parts changed but the end result is a stellar guitar with a vintage feel, authentic vintage look, unbeatable tone and great all-around playability.
Condition: Good player’s grade condition. The finished was stripped and the guitar over-sprayed with lacquer. There is a large chip in the wood on the back that was glued back on so it is merely cosmetic. The pickup cavities were routed to accommodate the pickups and the fingerboard has been replaced. There is some unevenness on the treble side of the fingerboard where it meets the neck as the work was amateur but despite this, the neck is in good shape structurally and the playability is fantastic. The fingerboard and frets are in great shape with only light play wear. The neck is super comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. The pickups, electronics, pickguard, tailpice, control knobs, fingerboard, nut, strap buttons and tuning buttons are unoriginal. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid, single-cutaway mahogany body. Wrap-around tailpiece/bridge with 6 saddles, skirted control knobs and a single-ply black pickguard. The pickguard was crudely cut by hand but it works fine.
Neck: slender mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Three-on-a-strip deluxe tuners with ivoroid buttons. 24.75” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: P-90 pickups in the neck and bridge with master volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck: 8.55K Ohms.
Bridge: 7.72K Ohms.
Weight: 6lbs, 4.5oz.
Case: Includes a hardshell case.
