Description
What makes this guitar special: This lovely, small-body acoustic made its debut in '61 & this particular model is from the second year of production, making it a very early example. Great look & feel with a rich, vibrant tone. The perfect "couch guitar" that offers endless hours of good time pickin' & strummin'. Professionally set up by Cream City Music & ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear for a guitar its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear around the soundhole. There is about a six inch crack in the body - lower bout, treble side. The crack was professionally repaired - glued & cleated by our luthier - & is stable with no movement. Overall the guitar has cool vintage vibe with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Soft, V-shaped mahogany neck with beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & cream side-dots. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Slotted headstock with rosewood overlay. Nickel tuners with cream buttons in good working condition. 1 7/8" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight, but the guitar could benefit from a neck reset to get the angle better, hence lowering the action some. The guitar is quite playable in its current condition & the action at the 12th fret is about 1/4".
Body: Solid spruce top with tortoise binding. Rosewood bridge with white end pins. Multi-ring rosette; no pickguard. Solid mahogany back & sides. 13 3/4" lower bout width; 9 3/4" upper bout width; 4 1/2" depth; 19" length. No pickup added.
Case: Newer Guardian hardshell case included.
