Description
A vintage 1962 Tonemaster 260R in player-grade condition. Tonemaster was one of the many re-branded offerings of the Magnatone company, and the 260R differs from the Magnatone 460 in name only. Cosmetically this amp has seen better days. The tolex is heavily worn and almost entirely missing on bottom of the amp. In addition the back panel is long gone, and the handle has been replaced. That said, the amp is all original where it counts and features original Schumacher transformers and Oxford Alnico speakers. It has a wonderful deep clean tone that turns into a thick, tweed-esque bark as you turn up the volume. The amp also sports the classic, true pitch-shifting varistor vibrato and a lovely tube-driven long-spring reverb. This will make a great old-school stage or studio amp that you won't have to worry about scratching up. This vintage amplifier has been cleaned, serviced and tested. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
