What makes this guitar special: This gorgeous, 100% original ES-175 was just recently acquired from the son of the original owner. He shared many fond memories growing up listening to his dad play the guitar in the house & would love for it to find a new home, where it will continue to be played & loved. The guitar offers a warm, rich tone with a beautiful acoustic resonance. The sunburst finish is very vibrant & there's some pretty birdseye figuring in the back of the body. Professionally gone over by us; set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing, even after all these years!
Cosmetic Condition: 100% original & in great shape for being over 50 years old. There's the typical play wear for an instrument of this age - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, mild weather checking & light finish wear. No breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar looks marvelous with a beautiful patina. Everything is fully functioning & in perfect working condition.
Neck: Slender, flat profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets are in great shape with only light wear in the first few frets & plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe "double lip" tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss works fine.
Body: Florentine cutaway, hollow maple body with dual F-holes & finished in 3-tone sunburst. 3-ply top binding & single-ply back binding. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with floating rosewood bridge. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape shape - it has curved a bit over time & shows some pick wear, but there are no cracks in it. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 15.8 oz.
Pickup: Gibson Patent Number humbucker with nickel cover & black bezel. 7.66K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The handle is broken on one side, but is in otherwise great shape overall.
