Description
What makes this guitar special: The perfect addition to any collection or player’s lineup, this ’65 Mustang is in completely original condition! It plays absolutely fantastic, with a rounded maple neck that trends thicker as you near the upper register, resting nicely in hand. The single coil pickups with 3-way phase selectors afford a variety of useful tones, while the short scale design makes it a breeze to navigate up and down the length of the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. This piece has been played, but not to death, and showcases all the hallmarks of a classic patina-some light honest edge wear, and pleasing weather checking patterns. A true beauty!
Cosmetic condition: Some honest light wear throughout, with some surface scratching, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, most notably along the edges of the body. There is weather checking throughout the entire guitar, and visible tarnishing on the hardware.
Body: Double cutaway solid alder body in Dakota Red with 3-ply pearloid pickguard, six-saddle bridge, and Fender Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece. Included tremolo arm is not original to the guitar.
Weight: 7 lb, 7.2 oz
Neck: Nicely rounded solid maple neck with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, pearl side dots, and pearl dot inlays. Frets show some light wear, but still have a ton of life left in them. 1 5/8” nut width, 24” scale length. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional. Neck heel dates to September of '65.
Electronics: Dual single coil pickups (Neck-5.63k ohms, Bridge-5.56k ohms) with 3-way phase selector switch and black knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume. Pots date to '65 and all electronics are fully functional.
Case: Original hard shell case included. Case is in good shape, but the middle latch is broken.
