What’s special about this bass: This is a beautiful sounding and great playing vintage 1965 Hofner 500/2 Club bass. The bass has a super cool and authentic vintage vibe with excellent sounding pickups and the perfect amount of play wear for just the right look. The back has some subtle flame figuring that looks stunning and the neck shape couldn’t be any more comfortable!
Condition: Great overall shape especially for the instrument’s age! There are various minor surface scratches, a few tiny nicks and dings and consistent weather checking throughout the instrument. It has just the right amount of play for a cool, authentic vintage look! The fingerboard and frets are in great shape with only light play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is very comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard. Our master luthier performed a neck reset on this piece so it place fantastic! The upper strap button is missing, one tuner has been replaced and the neck volume control can cut out from time to time when turned all the way up at the very end of the taper. All electronics and parts are otherwise original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound hollow body with a spruce top and maple back and sides in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with a height-adjustable Ebony bridge with adjustable nickel saddles. Pearloid control panel with silver top teacup control knobs and three slider switches. Pearloid pickguard. The pearloid and binding have developed a great patina giving the guitar just a beautiful vintage look!
Neck: Super comfortable and nicely shaped maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays, a zero-fret and a 1 9/16” nut. 30” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original Hofner pickups in the neck and bridge. Dual volume controls, dual on/off switches and a rhythm/solo switch.

Case: Includes the original hardshell case. The case does have some scratches throughout the tolex but is in good shape overall.
