Description
A vintage 1965 Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve 2x12 piggyback tube amp in exceptional cosmetic condition. Poplularized by Jack White, these Silvetone amps feature a thick, compressed overdrive character that is perfect for punk and garage rock. This one has had some tweaks to make it a little more usable. A grounded AC cord was installed for safety/noise issues, and a 1/4" plug was added to the cord, with a speaker jack plate added to the cabinet--allowing the head and cab can be mixed and matched with a head/cab of your choice. It should be noted that, as with most of these old Silvetones, the reverb circuit is "working," but the spring assembly causes so much feedback that the reverb is largely unusable. Aside from that, the amp is fully functional and sounds fantastic. Includes the rare original footswitch and original RCA Blackplate 6L6GC power tubes.
