Description
What makes this guitar special: A super cool vintage Coronado, in the hard-to-find single pickup configuration. Perfect for the player looking for vintage sound and playability on a modest budget, this Coronado is sonically suited to do just about anything. The tone roll off on this thing is phenomenal, allowing you to use the single pickup in a variety of ways, from sultry blues and jazz, to twangy treble tones that cut beautifully through the mix. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music-so she’s ready to go right out of the case!
Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for its age, with some expected playwear throughout-various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs are present, with areas of finish wear, weather checking, and finish chips throughout. The word Coronado was worn off the headstock at some juncture, and a previous owner had doweled the neck joint. We’ve since removed the dowel, but there remains a drilled hole in the neck pocket (see photos).
Body: Double bound hollow maple body with dual f-holes in sunburst finish with 3-ply black pickguard. Floating compensated bridge and Fender trapeze tailpiece.
Weight: 4 lb, 15.5 oz
Neck: C-shaped sunburst finished maple neck with cream colored side dots and pearl dot inlays. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show light wear for their age, with a lot of life left. Original F-stamped nickel tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Single coil pickup in the neck position (12.26k ohms), with adjustable tone & volume controls. Pickup dates to ’66, and all electronics are fully functional.
Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included. Case is in pretty rough shape and only two of the clasps work, but it still serves its purpose.
