Description
What’s special about this classical: This vintage Gibson classical has a beautiful sound and character that you don’t hear in just any old classical. It has a very warm sound with excellent note attack and the body responds nicely to playing dynamics getting louder and projecting more the harder it is played. The neck is also particularly comfortable and has a profile making it perfectly suitable for chords or lead work.
Condition: Good shape overall. This guitar will need some additional work but it is currently playable. There is some bridge pull resulting in some gapping at the back of the bridge and slight warping of the top beneath the bridge. For this reason the bridge should eventually be re-glued. The action is a little high currently but after the bridge is re-glued the action should be much better. There is also still plenty of room to come down on the bridge saddle. Cosmetically there are scratches, nicks, dings, small chips and consistent weather checking throughout the instrument. If anything it actually gives the guitar a cool vintage look and vibe! The fingerboard and frets are in good shape overall with moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is very comfortable however with the proper work done it will play even better!
Body: Double-bound body with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge with a bone saddle and an inlaid rosette around the sound hole.
Neck: Very nicely rounded 5-piece neck with a rosewood fingerboard. White dot fret markers, a zero-fret and a 2” nut. Slotted peg-head with three-on-a-strip open gear tuners with ivoroid buttons. 25 ¼” scale length.
Weight: 3lbs, 9.4oz.
Case: Includes an unoriginal chipboard case.
