Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful sounding, great playing Silvertone model U-1 in copper finish. The finish on this guitar looks awesome and has just enough wear to give it an authentic vintage look. The neck on this one is particularly comfortable and it features a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard!
Condition: This guitar is in great overall shape for its age! There are some light scratches, small nicks and dings and some light “pitting” in areas of the finish but it is very clean for a guitar from 1968! The fingerboard and frets are in very good shape with moderate play wear towards the middle and upper registers and some heavier wear towards the lower registers. The tone switch and tone control are not currently functioning. The wiring appears to be original so we are leaving the wiring alone. One strap button has been replaced.
Body: Single-cutaway poplar body with copper top and back and white vinyl sides. Height-adjustable bridge with rosewood saddle, dual control knobs, tone switch and a white pickguard.
Neck: Nicely shaped neck with a beautiful Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. White dot inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. Six-on-a-strip open-gear tuners, 25” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original lipstick pickup in the neck position with a volume control, tone control and a 3-way tone switch. As mentioned previously, the tone circuit is not currently functioning. The pickup does show a high ohm reading but this is likely due to the capacitors and wiring as the pickup sound perfectly healthy.
Weight: 6lbs, 2.0oz.
