Description
A vintage 1969 Fender Twin Reverb tube combo amp. Some non-origial cosmetics and circuitry have moved this amp from the collectible category to that of a truly fantastic player's amplifier. This amp had several mods when we purchased it. Instead of reverting the circuit to the original, and much-maligned, AC568 circuit, we chose to install the revered, AB763 Blackface circuit. The guts of this amp are now identical to that of a Blackface Twin. While we were at it, we also fully re-capped the power supply, installed a grounded AC power cord, and installed and biased a brand new set of 6L6GCM-STR power tubes.
The circuit upgrades, coupled with the upgraded EVM-12L speakers (worth 400 bucks on their own!), have turned the amp into an amazing player. It is, without a doubt, one of the best-sounding Twin Reverbs we've ever had come through our shop. Wit a gigantic clean tone that transitions into a very natural-sounding breakup as you turn up the volume--and none of the splattery distortion commonly associated with Silverface Fenders. Unless you have a bad back, this Twin will definitely put a smile on your face. This amp has been serviced and tested. It is fully functional and sounds absolutely fantastic. Includes modern Fender footswitch and casters.
