Description
What makes this guitar special: A unique model from the lawsuit era, this Ibanez has many of the characteristics of a 70s build, with surprisingly good sound and playability. Its humbuckers sound great in both positions with a warm and full neck response and crisp bite and articulation in the bridge. The neck is nice and slim and plays with ease at length and its C shape should be a familiar feel to a vast majority of players. The inlays throughout make this model really stand out, and players who like a bit of extra flash will likely enjoy the ornate detail behind the bridge, inlaid in the frets, and even the flaming goblet in the headstock. Other than all that, it’s a great player with solid tone and comes with its original hardshell case and pro setup to boot.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scuffs, and scratches, but is still in great playable shape. There hardware does show some oxidation and some of the gold color has worn off as well. The frets show mild wear but are even and still have a good amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should. Pickguard and pickup switch ring are included but pickguard is missing some of the mounting hardware. The case is only in poor to fair condition. It is structurally sound and the latches work, but the hinges are broken.
Body: Single cutaway 3-piece pancake body with a multi-ply bound carved top in Brown Sunburst finish. Gold bridge with adjustable saddles and stop bar tailpiece. Black witch hat control knobs with gold inserts. Ornate body inlays behind the bridge.
Neck: Slim C shape neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with ornate pearloid inlays. Gold sealed tuning machines with keystone keys. 1 11/16” nut width. Flaming goblet headstock inlay. 24.75” scale length. .78” deep at the 1st fret and .91” deep at the 12th.
Electronics: Ibanez embossed humbucking pickups. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector. Unoriginal 3-way switch.
Weight: 9 lbs 1.1 oz
Playability/Sound: The slim neck plays very easily and will be comfortable and familiar to most players. The pickups are everything you’d hope for from this type of build and configuration with a full and warm neck response and crisp bite with a little jangle in the bridge.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
