What makes this banjo special: Great value for a vintage 5-string, this tenured Saga banjo has loads of character and tone to match. It has nice mid-range pop and a touch of warmth in tone to match its classic look of bound mahogany. The neck is a perfect U shape that gives it great overall playability. The subtle aesthetic touches give it a bit of visual flavor as well, from the star-stretched bowtie fingerboard inlays to the resonator-matching mahogany rim. All-in-all, it’s a great way for players to get access to a solid vintage banjo without breaking the bank.
Condition: This banjo is in very good condition overall. It shows only minor nicks, dings, dents, and light scratches throughout but is otherwise in great shape cosmetically. It does show some fingerboard wear and wear on the head as well but structurally, everything is still in great shape. The hardware shows only minor tarnishing and pot assembly on the whole looks to be in solid condition both structurally and cosmetically. The frets show only light wear and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Mahogany rim, sides, and back with cream binding. Wooden Grover bridge and oval-hole string-thru tailpiece. Nickel-colored pot assembly and arm rest.
Neck: U / boat-shaped mahogany neck and bound dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid star-stretched tie inlays. Carved contour for high string tuning machine. Closed-gear nickel tuning machines with white pearl buttons. 1 3/16” nut width.

Playability/Sound: This banjo has a nice touch of warmth and good amount of body and pop while still maintaining good overall clarity. The U/boat-shaped neck plays marvelously easy at length even up past the neck heel.
